Meet the Assistant Principal

Welcome to a wonderful new school year, Niños families! It is with absolute joy and excitement that I introduce myself as your Assistant Principal. While this marks my fourth year serving the Kyrene School District, I am thrilled to be joining the incredible Niños community for the very first time. I am truly honored to be in this role and cannot wait to get to know all of you as we dive into this new chapter together.

Though I have happily made Arizona my home, I am originally from northern Illinois and relocated here from Baltimore, Maryland, where I spent a significant portion of my career in Baltimore City Public Schools. Over the years, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to serve in various educational roles, including teaching literacy in grades 1 through 4 and working as a school-wide Reading Specialist. Because I love learning just as much as our students do, I have collected a few degrees along the way. I hold a bachelor's degree in education policy from American University, a master's in education from Johns Hopkins University, and a second master's in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.

My decision to become an administrator was rooted in a deep desire to positively impact an entire school community. In this role, I am fully committed to working hand-in-hand with Ms. Parry, our incredible staff, and our families to support the mission and vision of Niños. Every day, I look forward to partnering with our teachers and staying deeply connected to student learning and growth. I am especially passionate about promoting educational equity and celebrating the milestones, both big and small, that our students achieve as they work toward their goals.

I truly believe that strong partnerships between home and school empower students to shape their futures and contribute meaningfully to their communities and beyond. My door is always open, and I warmly welcome your conversation, ideas, and collaboration throughout the year. Together, I am confident we will make this a year full of deep learning, immense growth, and joyful success.
